Sponsors back the Stonewall game tonight
We are pleased to have two joint Official Match Sponsors tonight, for our Anti-Homophobia Friendly-Southwark UNISON & Hope not Hate Here they say why
Southwark UNISON have many rank & file Hamlet fans among their rank & file membership, & here their branch secretary Sue Plain explains why they are backing the game tonight:
"Southwark UNISON branch committee didn't hesitate for a second when asked to sponsor this match. Congratulations to DHFC for taking on community issues and being onside with the LGBT community. I'm a season ticket holder and I'm pleased to say I've never heard a homophobic comment or chant from "The Rabble". I really hope this event will encourage more LGBT supporters and players to come to DHFC and that other clubs will follow this example"
We have also received the following message from the
'Hope not hate' campaign group, which fights discrimination on many fronts:
"HOPE not hate are committed to campaigning against inequality within the sport whether it it be by race/religion or sexual orientation and we are proud to be sponsoring Dulwich Hamlet¹s ground-breaking initiative in raising awareness about homophobia within football."
We thank both groups for their support this evening, with Dulwich Hamlet Football Club donating their sponsorship fees to the Elton John AIDS Foundation collection tonight.
