Thank you all for your donations!
Last night we held a bucket collection in aid of the injured Beckenham Town goalkeeper Graham Loki
You will recall, and those of us who were there on the night at the abandoned match certainly won't forget it for a long time, that Graham broke his leg in two places & shattered his ankle in an innocuous challenge just over a week ago.
He is still recovering in hospital, having been operated on, and we held a collection for him at yesterday evening's pre-season game against Crawley Town, as well as donating the Club share from the '50/50' ticket draw.
All of our fans, from those in the Boardroom who serve on the Football Committee, right down to young primary school kids chucking in their pocket money, as well as visiting supporters who made the journey up from Sussex, were extremely generous.
The '50/50' raised £78 and once we counted the buckets after the final whistle the combined total was...
FIVE HUNDRED AND ELEVEN POUNDS, SEVENTY SEVEN PENCEFootball Club Committee Chairman Liam Hickey will be making sure this gets to him in the next day or two and said:
"I really shouldn't be surprised by how kind and caring our fans are...but this is what the word flabbergasted was invented for. It's a wonderful gesture from everyone at our Club, and whatever happens over the new season, this will already be up there as one of the highlights!"
