The dream goes pop!
Prior to the Trophy game we asked some Hamlet fans how important the game was...
Maybe it was the fault of Hamlet Pitchero for tempting fate, but before kick off we asked a few of our supporters the following question:
HOW IMPORTANT IS THE TROPHY & WHAT WOULD YOUR DREAM DRAW BE IN LATER ROUNDS?
Here's what they had to say...
Ian Caldecourt;Whyteleafe:
"It is important for the prize money, so we should compete. A nice draw later against an old rival team of ours, maybe someone like Carshalton Athletic. Purely basing it on money Luton Town would be next best.Beat Carshalton, then go to Luton. Though I'd sooner win the London Senior Cup."
Lester Ford;Crofton Park:
"Revenue wise it's really important for the Football Club. Dream draw would be Luton Town at home, hopefully Millwall will be away somewhere...I'll say no more!"
Jamie Wyatt;Cliffe, Kent:
"The League is always more important for me, but the cups like the Trophy will bring in extra money. As for a 'dream draw', a big Conference club that bring a big crowd in."
Dave Martins;Forest Gate:
"Well it would be nice for us to win something!Later rounds?Preferably a club we can beat. I feel we have a reasonable chance against Romford & then Thurrock. After that as easy a draw as possible as the FA Cup draws haven't been the kindest."
Richard Watts;Sydenham:
"To be honest the Trophy pales into insignificance compared to promotion, for me. I'd like a long distance trip to somewhere different, like Bideford a couple of seasons ago."
Mick O'Shaughnessy;Purley:
"The Trophy's not very important for me. Dream draw would be Tooting away, then a good draw away to someone like Bishop Auckland."
All very hypothetical now, I'm afraid...but we had to ask...
