The local press are shouting about tomorrow!
Both of our local newspapers have been mentioning our PAY-WHAT-YOU-LIKE match, which kicks off at 3.00pm on Saturday
On Thursday the 'Southwark News' gave it a mention away from the sports pages, but in the main news section:
'Pay what you like' at HamletDulwich Hamlet is letting fans pay what they like at this Saturday's game, and donating all profit from the gate to charity.
A bumper crowd is expected at the Bostik League Premier Division clash with Needham Market at Champion Hill.
The club is taking part in the 'pay what you like initiative' as part of Non League Day. There will be no obligation to pay the usual admission price, but the more each fans pays, the more the club can donate to charity.
The two charities which will benefit from the day will be Peckham's Copleston Centre, Hamlet's official charity partner for the season, and Brixton-based mental health charityLambeth & Southwark MIND.
Chair of the Football Club Committee Liam Hickey said: "Throwing open the gates, so to speak, is always a huge gamble, as we still have to cover the costs of staging the game and covering all matchday expenses first. But in the past our fans have always been understanding and generous enough to make sure we give good four figute donations to whoever we work with on the day."
He added: "It's a great way to invite your friends and neighbours along to experience Champion Hill. Even if football isn't for them they still have the excuse of supporting good causes. But I know that once they're here, no matter how sceptical they might be about non-league, they'll love it and come back!"
Football Committee Community spokesperson Mishi Morath commented: "We're very lucky to have the full backing of our General Manager Chris Taylor, and the people from Meadows Residential, for giving us permission once more to stage a day like this. We're lucky it falls on 'Non League Day' this season, and not just our fans, but those from our professional South London neighbours will come along, and be generous, while not just having a good day, but supporting some brilliant causes."
Hamlet play Needham Market on Saturday October 7 at 3pm.
While there was another headlined plug of our big day this morning in the 'South London Press':
Pay what you like at DulwichDulwich Hamlet are expecting a bumper turnout for Saturday's home game against Needham Market- operating a pay-what-you-like policy.
The Bostik League Premier Division club already boast the biggest crowds in the division and had 1,752 at their last fixture at Champion Hill for a 4-0 win over Leatherhead.
All profits from the match will go to their nominated charities this season-Lambeth & Southwark Mind and the Copleston Centre.
Dulwich boss Gavin Rose has fresh injury headaches going into the weekend with strikers Dumebi Dumaka and Muhammadu Faal both sidelined.
He said: "Dumebi's problem is with his knee and he could be out quite long-term. Muhammadu we are hoping is a short-term one, he has injured his ankle. Sanchez Ming is back from suspension and available this weekend but we are still plaqued by injuries."
Gavin Tomlin, Anthony Acheampon and Nathan Green are all ruled out for Hamlet.
Dulwich could have a gate in excess of 2,000 this weekend.
Rose said: "You'd hope we would reach that figure with the money going to charity and people being able to choose how much they pay to get in."
And on-line, as always, we're extremely grateful to the local community website that gives ourselves so much positive coverage, the 'Brixton Buzz' team, who are loyal supporters of our Club, for spreading the word about tomorrow. CLICK HERE to see what they posted online.
