THIS AFTERNOON’S MATCH PREVIEW – HAMPTON & RICHMOND BOROUGH (AWAY)
It is all up for grabs now as the season enters the final straight with six teams still battling it out for those precious play-off spots.
It was not long ago that the playoffs were within the grasp of Hampton and Richmond Borough only for a mid-season slump to demolish those castles in the air. However of late it seems to have become the mission of the Beavers to (not so) quietly sabotage the hopes of those whose pipedreams of playoffs and promotion still burn bright.
A hefty kick in the crown jewels of AFC Hornchurch has been administered twice in recent weeks, with a rare goal from former Dulwich defensive man mountain Justyn Roberts helping the Beavers to share of the points at the Beveree 11 days ago before Ben Harris stole the headlines and maximum as he became the fourth different Beaver to notch a hat-trick this season.
Just four days earlier leading scorer and Isthmian League Golden Boot frontrunner, Charlie Moone, had added to his growing reputation as Hampton gave another of the big boys a licking with Bognor Regis the latest added to a long list of scalps this season, champions Wealdstone and play-off chasers Lowestoft and Kingstonian all coming unglued in encounters with Hampton. Dulwich too have had their nightmares of the Beavers who snatched a late equaliser in the dying moments of a 2-2 draw at Champion Hill.
This afternoon’s game kicks off at 3.00 pm at the Beveree Stadium, Beaver Close, Hampton, Middlesex, TW12 2XB
