THIS EVENING’S MATCH PREVIEW – BECKENHAM TOWN (AWAY) KO 7.15 PM
Dulwich Hamlet get their preseason campaign underway with a now regular trip to Eden Park Avenue to face the Becks.
Last season was a tough one for the Kent side as they narrowly avoided the drop out of the SCEFL Premier Division, finishing just a single point clear of second bottom Fisher. However, preseason started well as the Hamlet’s hosts tonight already have one friendly win under their belts having beaten Stansfield Old Boys 3-0 back on Saturday 1st July.
Meanwhile Gavin Rose’s squad, composing most of last season’s contingent that came so close to making the leap into the National League South, have been put through their paces on the training ground in preparation for another assault on the Isthmian League Premier Division, now under new sponsorship courtesy of Bostik.
Whilst Ibra Sekajja (currently unattached), Panuche Camara (to Crawley Town) and Matt Drage (to Eastbourne Borough) have departed, the manager has made a couple of key defensive signings with the arrival of Rickie Hayles from Welling United and former Maidstone United centre back Anthony Acheampong. Expect to see both the new boys being put through their paces along with some familiar first team faces, the best of the current crop of ASPIRE Academy graduates and maybe the odd trialist or two.
For those making their way to the game by public transport Eden Park Avenue is conveniently situated a short five-minute walk from Eden Park station which is served by trains from London Bridge, Lewisham and Lower Sydenham among others. Please note that due to floodlight problems tonight’s game has been brought forward to a 7.15 pm kick off with a swift five-minute turnaround at half time.
