THIS EVENING’S MATCH PREVIEW – CRYSTAL PALACE XI (HOME)

THIS EVENING’S MATCH PREVIEW – CRYSTAL PALACE XI (HOME)

Palace’s senior soccer ballers may be getting their cleats into some American pitch...

but back in blighty the fledgling Eaglets will be testing their mettle against the Hamlet tonight.

It is a short trip for Crystal Palace to Dulwich this evening with the Glaziers development players making up the bulk of the squad though it is expected that a number of triallists and the odd senior player may get a run out.

This is the third of four preseason games for the Gary Issott’s Academy lads with the squad unbeaten so far after a 4-1 win away to Beckenham in front of crowd said to be in excess of 2000. They followed that up last Friday with a good workout away to Havant and Waterlooville and although that finished scoreless it was not through lack of trying with chances going begging at either end and some top notch defending keeping the the score sheet blank.
The Eagles have strong links with the Hamlet, with the likes of Ian Wright, Alan Pardew, George Ndah, Leon Cort and Quade Taylor going on to represent Palace having strutted their stuff at Champion Hill.

Expect to see a few changes this evening to the Dulwich Hamlet side that notched up their second straight 4-1 win of preseason in the strength sapping heat of Whyteleafe at the weekend with a number of the more experienced players expected to be back in the line-up. However, given some of the performances from their precocious teammates on Saturday, the “old boys” may some young whippersnappers biting at their heels in the selection race!

This evening’s game kicks off at 7.45 pm at Champion Hill Stadium, Edgar Kail Way, East Dulwich, London SE22 8BD.

The turnstiles will be open from approximately 6.00 pm with refreshment facilities available in the ground for early arrivals. As a very healthy crowd is expected, why not avoid the late rush and relax. Before the game enjoy a drink or snack in our cosy clubhouse with live sport on the big screens, conveniently situated just a short walk from the turnstiles?
