THIS EVENING’S MATCH PREVIEW – KINGSTONIAN (HOME)
Dulwich welcome K’s to Champion Hill with League Cup semi-final spot up for grabs.
Thwarted by snow, ice and rain, it looks like fourth time lucky tonight as Dulwich Hamlet attempt to book a home tie with Thamesmead Town in the last four of the Isthmian League Cup at Champion Hill this evening. Standing in their way will be Premier Division Kingstonian, the only winners of the competition still standing. K's, who beat Aldershot 4-1 in the 1996 final, come into this evening’s game well placed in the top four of the Premier Division after substitute Wade Small came off the bench to bag a late winner away to fellow promotion hopefuls, and Dulwich playoff conquerors last term, Bognor Regis.
The experienced Small, nine goals this term, a number of them as a late substitute may prove a handful for the Hamlet defence though it is another seasoned striker, Andre McCollin who leads the scoring charts with a baker’s dozen. Prolific earlier this season, his scoring including a losing hat trick in a 4-3 defeat at Canvey Island, McCollin has struggled to recapture that form of late but must never be underestimated. The same can be said of the diminutive, but tricky winger Dean Lodge, equally able to frustrate and fascinate with his darting runs into the box and ability to draw a vital penalty now and then. In the centre of the park creative midfielder Matt Pattison has chipped with more than his fair share of goals whilst Dulwich fans still have a soft spot for former Hamlet custodian, Rob Tolfrey who continues to impress between the sticks for the K’s.
Remember this game must be played to a conclusion this evening with penalties at the end of 90 minutes if need be (no extra time will be played).
This evening’s game kicks off at 7.45 pm at Champion Hill Stadium, Edgar Kail Way, East Dulwich, London SE22 8BD.
Before the game why not enjoy a drink or snack in the ground cosy clubhouse with live sport on the big screens, conveniently situated just a short walk from the turnstiles?
