Tooting & Mitcham Utd 1-2 Dulwich Hamlet

Dulwich completed their pre season programme with a win at Imperial Fields.

Dulwich named a strong side but rested both Daniel Carr & Gain Tomlin, whilst there was a first sight of Kadell Daniel ( formerly with National League Woking & Welling Utd).

The game was a little over competitive at times with the referee resorting to brandishing numerous yellow cards although there was only one really bad tackle which was an over the top lunge by one of Tooting's substitutes moments after he entered the field.

The first half was devoid of any real excitement. Nyren Clunis, playing in an unfamiliar central striker role, was wide with a lobbed effort and Ashley Carew forced Tooting keeper Merson into a routine save from a free kick.

Clunis forced Merson to kick away a scuffed effort and had another effort blocked as neither side could create any gilt edged chances, with Preston Edwards not forced into action other than to hold an effort by Kurtis Pyke, although the home side's Taurean Roberts looked bright and inventive.

Half Time 0-0

Dulwich were brighter after the break and a good move down their right saw Sanchez Ming drive into the box but his low cross was cut out. However, Dulwich took the lead from their next attack. A good through ball released Nyren Clunis on the right and he thumped a cross shot past Merson to give Dulwich the lead in the 49th minute.

Roman Michael-Percil forced a good save from Merson as he bore down on goal on the left.

Preston Edwards was called into action just past the hour to make a routine save from a headed effort but it was Dulwich who grabbed the next goal in the 70th minute through Ashley Carew. A scuffed clearance into midfield from home keeper Merson was quickly transferred to Roman Michael-Percil on the left and his cross fell to Carew to thump home.

Roman Michael-Percil had an effort blocked in front of the line with 8 minutes left before the home side were awarded a penalty in the 88th minute. Taurean Roberts converted comfortably.
