Yesterday evening the Dulwich Hamlet fallen were remembered in the Boardroom at Champion Hill

Dozens of Dulwich Hamlet supporters' gathered in the Boardroom last night to remember those members of our Club who were known to have made the ultimate sacrifice in the Two World Wars. Mention was also made of the many unknown supporters who departed, never to return to their places on the terraces.

Several wreaths were placed at the Club War Memorial in the annual ceremony, which is held as close to Armistice Day as possible, last night being chosen as the service this year fell on the actual day.

The short service was organised by the Dulwich Hamlet Football Committee, and was led by the Football Club chairman, Liam Hickey.

Wreaths were laid, on behalf of the Football Committee, by Club President Jack Payne.
The next was placed by First Team manager Gavin Rose, along with Nyren Clunis, on behalf of the football management and players.
This was followed by the Club General Manager Chris Taylor, for our owners from Meadows.
After this Jack McInroy stepped on, for the 'Hamlet Historian' magazine, whose team of writers have done so much down the years to make sure the memory of our players who died in battle are never forgotten.
Then came Duncan Hart, chairman of the Dulwich Hamlet Supporters' Trust.
And, finally, a wreath was placed by members from the Dulwich Branch of the Royal British Legion.

The Legion will be back at Champion Hill for the match against Chesham United this afternoon, so please consider getting a poppy off of them, if you have not done so yet, before Remembrance Sunday tomorrow.

Lastly, prior to kick off this afternoon, there will be a one minute silence to remember all of those who fell in the Two World Wars.
