WEALDSTONE 2-2 DULWICH HAMLET
Dulwich came from two goals down at half-time to secure a valuable point at leaders Wealdstone.
Two stunning strikes from Tommy Kavanagh and Ahmed Deen rescued a point for The Hamlet in a battling performance.
Phil Wilson started in goal, despite obviously suffering from the calf injury he picked up at Hornchurch on Tuesday, whist Erhun Oztumer was sidelined by his injury. Ian Daly started at centre forward wit BIlly Crook and Ellis Green both restored to the starting line-up.
Wealdstone opened much the brighter and dominated possession without creating any real alarms in the Dulwich defence despite the impressive movement of Scott McGleish and Tom Pett.
At the other end there was little in the way of chances for the away side as they struggled to hold the ball up.
It was the home side who grabbed the lead in the 33rd minute. With The Hamlet temporarily down to ten men as Marc-Anthony Okoye had to leave the field after treatment. A long throw was hurled into the box and, after an inadvertent flick off the Duwich head, Scott McGleish swept the ball home.
Wealdstone continued to dominate and, after sloppy passing in midfield, Ethan Pinnock was dispossessed. The ball was transferred in behind the defence and Tom Pett beat Wilson to put the home side two up three minutes from the break.
However, in a prelude to the second half Kevin James almost reduced the arrears as his header was clawed away by North in the home goal.
Half Time 2-0
The second half saw Dulwich start to push the home side back but there were no alarms for the home defence as the clock ticked past the hour mark.
That all changed in the 62nd minute as the ball was cleared to Tommy Kavanagh some 25 yards out and he rifled a shot that swerved past North's right hand and nestled in the bottom corner; his first goal for The Hamlet.
The match was now more evenly balanced with Wealdstone being pushed back but looking dangerous on the break particularly with the mazy runs of substitute Glen Little. From one such break Phil Wilson produced a brilliant tip on to the bar from a shot that looked destined for the net.
Then with 8 minutes remaining Dulwich grabbed an equaliser from the most unlikely of sources. In over 80 previous games for the club Ahmed Deen had never scored. That all changed as he picked up the ball half way inside the Wealdstone half, advanced to some 25 yards out and then unleashed a shot that whistled past North's left hand and nestled in the net.
Dulwich pushed for a winner and substitute Jerome Walker almost got on the end of a cross as the ball was cleared against him as he stretched to reach it.
