Woking -The Final Home Game Preview
The final home game of a tumultuous season arrives today as we welcome long time title contenders Woking.
Afr opening the season in exile at Tooting and Mitcham, and with a very real threat to the survival of the club hanging over it, I think we would all have settled for survival in the National League South and a return to our home at Champion Hill.
To have achieved both is a testament to our management team, the leadership of our Directors and the support of so many people in the fan base. To do so with amazing crowds at home ever since our return in December is nothing short of miraculous.
Because of all this, we are well positioned to move forward on and off the pitch next season.
Today's visitors from Woking FC have put aside the disappointment of relegation last season and rebuilt impressively. Under the astute guidance of Alan Dowson they have been challenging all season and had a terrific FA Cup run that was only ended by eventual finalists Watford.
Unfortunately, their downturn in league form has coincided with the business end of the season with no wins in the last 6 six games, and they arrive on the back of defeat at home to potential Play Off opponents Concord Rangers on Good Friday.
On the other hand, The Hamlet have found some form since the start of April and now sit as high as 14th place, a position we could only have dreamed of a month ago.
The match is all ticket and kicks off at 3pm.
