Women's February Player of the Month

Women's February Player of the Month

Polls are open to vote for your women's Player of the Month for February 2023

You can now vote for your women's Player of the Month for February.

February proved to be a fairly successful month for Ryan Dempsey's side, as despite losing at Dartford in the League Cup Quarter Finals, we claimed seven points out of a possible nine in the league, and scored 11 times during the course of the month in all competitions.

Rosie Stone opened her goal account for the campaign in fine style, netting two stunning free kicks in the victory over New London Lionesses, the first time she had scored multiple goals in a game for the Hamlet. This was followed up by a real gritty performance in midfield in our win against Enfield Town as we came from behind. Sophie Manzi was back amongst the goals during the month, netting in all four matches, becoming the first player to do so in our short history, and the first to score in three successive league matches too. Her five strikes moved her into double figures for the campaign.

Mia Lockett arrived on dual-registration from AFC Wimbledon at the beginning of the month and hit the ground running, impressing in her debut against New London. She would follow this up by earning the late penalty to help us win the game at Enfield, before scoring her first Hamlet goal inside a minute against Saltdean a week later, before winning another spot kick to put us 2-0 up. Lily Price was an ever-present in midfield, continuing to impress since her arrival from Crystal Palace at the beginning of the season. The match with Saltdean showed off all her qualities, breaking up play consistently with quality tackling, and being the starting point for all our attacks.
