Youth Team scrape through
The Youth Team progressed to the final qualifying round of the FA Youth but it was not all plain sailing
Dulwich opened the evening in their usual style and had established a 2-0 lead by half time with goals from Tyler Myers, who converted after the ball came back off the keeper, and Karem Boyle, whose weak shot somehow squirmed under the keeper from 25 yards out. Another rebound from a corner led to substitute Aaron Powell converting from close range early in the second half and it all looked over.
However, that's when Corinthian fought back and they quickly reduced the arrears and added a second midway through the half. At this stage it was suddenly a game and became very fractious. Having been booked earlier in the game for a foul on the keeper, Richmond Ayoola can consider himself fortunate to have escaped a second booking when the 2 collided again. The keeper leaving the field to be replaced by his substitute and Richmond being substituted.
Within minutes a sliding challenge from Alex Conning saw him receive a straight red card and The Hamlet were now hanging on. Deep into stoppage time Corinthian grabbed an equaliser when keeper Paul Idem couldn't keep out a long range strike.
And so to extra time and this was certainly eventful for Dulwich winger Nasim Dukali. He restored the lead with a spectacular 30 yard strike into the top corner after a free kick was blocked in the first period. He was also booked for the goal celebration. He struck again from close range early in the second period and that appeared to be the end of the contest.
However, deep into extra time Dukali was deemed to have handled the ball on the line and was shown a straight red card. So another penalty and another penalty save for keeper Paul Idem as he dived to his left to beat away the spot kick.
And so Dulwich eventually prevailed 5-3 and move into the final qualifying round.
