PREVIEW | Dulwich Hamlet vs Ashford Town Middlesex
The Hamlet Women return to Champion Hill on Sunday afternoon as they take on Ashford Town (Middlesex) in our 3rd fixture of the 24/25 FAWNL season.
Dulwich come into this following 2 victories over London Seaward in the last 7 days. A 1-0 victory last Sunday saw us secure our 1st ever 3 points in the FAWNL. On Thursday night we returned to East London this time in the FAWNL Cup determining round. A hat trick from Ede Buchele helped us on our way to a 4-0 victory securing passage to the FAWNL Cup rather than the FAWNL Plate.
Ashford Town are yet to pick up a win this season. They've experienced defeats to Real Bedford Town and Chesham United in the league before a defeat to Maidenhead United in the FAWNL Cup determining round.

What is the FAWNL Cup determining round?
It's our first season in the FA Women's National League. That also means it's our 1st year in the FAWNL Cup. However, there are 2 separate FAWNL competitions!
So how do they work out who competes in what?
Easy! The determining round. Unlike other cup competitions the first round isn't winner takes all in the FAWNL. The winner of our tie with London Seaward tonight will enter the FAWNL Cup. The loser tonight will enter the FAWNL plater. Last years cup final was won by Hashtag United at Kenilworth Road whilst Derby County won the FAWNL PLate at the home of FC United of Manchester.
Once we get past tonight's fixture the competitions return to a traditional winner takes all format. Win you go through, lose and you head out.
The competitions last throughout the 24/25 season with the finals held towards the end of the season with the venues still to be announced!
