A true Hamlet family are remembered tomorrow
There will be a silence prior to kick off tomorrow as Dulwich Hamlet remember Pat Mitchell, and her son John, who both passed away in the summer
Pat was legendary on the old Champion Hill Stadium terraces, and throughout the Isthmian League for her unwavering support of the team, with her famous rattle!
For many years she was a stalwart of the old, defunct Dulwich Hamlet Supporters Club, for whom her late husband Ron ran supporters coaches to every away match we played in the seventies and eighties.
She passed away not long after we clinched the title, in Lewisham Hospital, and although frail health kept her away from Champion Hill in the last few years, she kept in touch through the programmes & phone calls from old friends.
The day after her funeral further tragedy befell her family, when her son John felt unwell & was taken to hospital, where he died suddenly the following day. John was another stalwart of the old Supporters Club, and like his father Ron, also served the Football Club on the main Committee too.
Prior to kick off we shall remember them both, and several members of the Mitchell family will be guests of the Club in the boardroom.
To them all, and the Hamlet fans who knew Pat & John, we offer our deepest sympatheis from everyone at Dulwich Hamlet Football Club.
