ADVANCE TRAVEL INFORMATION FOR SATURDAY 24th AUGUST

ADVANCE TRAVEL INFORMATION FOR SATURDAY 24th AUGUST

East Dulwich Station will be closed on Saturday, replacement bus service in operation. Alternative travel details published here.

Supporters travelling by train to Dulwich Hamlet’s home game with Carshalton Athletic this Saturday 24th August are advised that engineering works mean that East Dulwich station will be closed this weekend. A replacement bus service is in operation between London Bridge and Tulse Hill, calling at East Dulwich station. Supporters using this service should allow for an extra 15-20 minutes added to their journey.

No Southern trains will run to and from London Bridge, passengers may use Southeastern trains between London Bridge and New Cross for connection with buses.

On Saturday, the following trains are amended or cancelled between the following routes:

  • London Bridge and Beckenham Junction / London Victoria / Reigate / Tattenham Corner will not run
  • Purley and Tattenham Corner will not run
  • London Bridge and Uckfield will run between Oxted and Uckfield
  • London Bridge and Tonbridge will run between Reigate and Tonbridge
  • London Bridge and Horsham will run between East Croydon and Horsham
  • London Bridge and West Croydon will run between Tulse Hill and East Croydon
  • London Bridge and Caterham will run between New Cross Gate and Caterham, a portion will detach at Purley for Tattenham Corner

Replacement buses will run between:

  • New Cross Gate and New Cross
  • London Bridge and Tulse Hill
  • Tulse Hill and Beckenham Junction

Additionally there is NO London Overground service between Canada Water and Clapham Junction, servicing Denmark Hill, with buses replacing trains on this route. However Southeastern trains from Victoria to Denmark Hill are not effected.

Regular bus services that pass Champion Hill are the P13, 40, 185, 176 & 484, alight on Dog Kennel Hill (Southbound) or East Dulwich Station (Northbound).

Buses within a ten-minute walk are the 37 (alight at Goose Green) or the 42 & 68 (alight at the 'Fox on the Hill' Wetherspoons, Denmark Hill, opposite Ruskin Park.

If coming by train into Victoria, you can get a 185 bus from there, about half an hour; likewise from Waterloo, with a 176 bus. Alternatively get a train from London Bridge to Forest Hill, & get a 185 or 176 from the bus stop outside the 'Capitol' Wetherspoons, journey time about 15 minutes.

Further information can be found at the National Rail Enquiries website and on the Southern Trains website.

We hope this information helps any first time visitors especially those from our opponents Carshalton Athletic and will not deter anyone from travelling.
