All aboard the skylark!

All aboard the skylark!

Shaun Dooley is gauging interest for a Supporters Coach to Leiston, on Saturday 16th August, our first Saturday away game

Leiston is a bit of an awkward one to get to, and a fair distance, being up in Suffolk. Last season this was a midweek fixture, and was by a long chalk our lowest away following of the season, only a dozen Hamlet fans being able to make the journey on a Tuesday night, so for most it will be a chance to visit a new ground too.

Shaun Dooley is considering running a Supporters Coach but needs to know in advance if there are enough fans to make it financially viable.

He simply wants to break even, and not make a profit.

Leiston does not have a train station, the nearest is over two miles away, and the local bus services are somewhat irrelgular, you would probably end up jumping in a taxi to/from the ground. Add to this your cost of getting to the station in London & Shaun's fare works out cheaper than going by public transport.

If you are thinking of driving you can save on petrol costs, relax and join in the fun atmosphere on the coach, and also have drink or two, if you wish, which you would not be able to do stuck behind the wheel.

In Shaun's own words:

"With it being ye olde summer time the coach company are very busy with bookings. If supporters are interested in me organising one would need to know promptly! Usual channels at "12th Man" stand on matchday or call me by text/call on 0793 127 6118 .
If I get a response of 30 or more I will book if not I won't. We have home games on 29th July v Palace and 5th August v Tooting would say I need to know by then the latest but obviously the earlier the better to avoid disappointment!
Adult £22 Concession £14 if we get over 35 the price will come down slightly.
Would be looking for a 10am depart from the ground. "

Shaun runs his coaches totally independent, and they are not subsidised by anyone. Losses last season were covered by him, personally.

A number of fans said it was sad that he lost money, and the only way to change this is to BOOK A SEAT!

Obviously lots of our fans like to make their own way to games, and set their own schedule, but for the few where Shaun runs a bus, why not relax on his coach service, where you will still have time for a drink pre- & post-match?

There's also an exclusive on-board coach newsletter, and we run a fun raffle on board...the proceeds of which help to subsidise the cost.

So, please, please give it some thought...hopefully pick up the phone and book your seat on the 'Dooley Bus'!
