Whyteleafe 1-4 Dulwich Hamlet
Dulwich secured their second 4-1 pre season victory in three days as the new Whyteleafe pitch proved to their liking.
Dulwich started with a very young side that also included Nyren Clunis and Lewis Gonsalves who had not featured recently.
The youthful central midfield of Xavier Vidal & Emiliano Hysi impressively dictated the early play and Abdul Mansaray, who had the measure of his marker from the start, saw his fifth minute cross well held by ex-Hamlet stopper Sheikh Ceesay. Minutes later Ceesay was again called into action to make a fine block from the same player's shot.
The home side then started to come more into the game as Jason Thompson put a spectacular volley just over and Jensen Grant twice fired wide.
Emiliano Hysi then had a shot brilliantly tipped over & Abdul Mansaray struck an effort just too high from the edge of the box. Kareem Boyle then scuffed his shot when well placed.
The next attack saw Nyren Clunis clean through and he was brought down as he rounded the keeper. Unfortunately, Ashley Robinson's spot kick was comfortably saved by Ceesay diving to his right.
Inigo Echepare saw his first real action on 26 minutes as he blocked well at his near post but before half time both Kareem Boyle & Abdul Mansaray had shots blocked close to the line when well placed.
Half Time 0-0
Dulwich took the lead on 51 minutes as Xavier Vidal fired home past the keeper from 25 yards and two minutes later Ashley Robinson doubled the lead as he collected a cross and fired home.
However, sloppy defending saw Whyteleafe halve the deficit as a corner was not cleared properly and a header from Greg Andrews looped inside the near post. Inigo Echepare then pulled off a fine fingertip save on 65 minutes to preserve the lead.
After a number of substitutions The Hamlet grabbed a third goal on 70 minutes as Ashley Robinson was sent crashing in the box and Ashley Carew put away the penalty emphatically.
A 4th goal came five minutes later as Ashley Robinson thumped home from distance and before the final whistle Fabian Reid, Laurent Hamici & Ashley Robinson all had chances to extend the margin of victory.
