Here's what the local media have been saying about The Hamlet over the last few days
Last Sunday's 'Non League Paper' had our crunch play-off clash at Tonbridge Angels as their Ryman League Premier Division feature game:
DEADLOCK AS ANGELS STAND UP TO HAMLETTonbridge couldn't repeat their midweek League Cup heroics against Dulwich, keeping both sides' play-off hopes intact after a frustrating encounter.
Tonbridge advanced to the Alan Turvey Trophy final with a 3-1 win at Longmead Stadium on Tuesday evening.
But yesterday afternoon at the same venue, it seemed as if the sides knew too much about each other.
And with league points at stake, they cancelled each other out, genuine chances being at something of a premium throughout.
Angels boss Steve McKimm wasn't in the mood for such excuses, however.
He told The NLP: "We just weren't good enough and bearing in mind we are now at the business end of the season, I expected more effort. But we improved second half and I've got to pleased with the clean sheet."
The first goal threat arrived on 10 minutes when ex-Angel Nathan Green's cross was almost diverted into his own goal by current Angels defender Sonny Miles.
On 26 minutes, Hamlet's Dipo Akinyemi headed Green's cross against the Tonbridge bar.
And the visitors finished the half on top without being able to break the Angels resistance.
But Tonbridge had a great chance at the start of the second-half.
Nicky Wheeler crossed and alexander Akrofi seemed to be favourite at the near post but the shot was mistimed.
And from the resultant corner Mitchell Nelson headed just wide at the back post.
On 62 minutes, green threatened the Angels rearguard with another cross and just for a moment it seemed the visitors outnumbered the home defenders, but somehow the Angels managed to clear the danger.
The Angels best half-chance came on 82 minutes when dangerous striker Nathan Elder headed on Luke Blewden's long throw but Hamlet keeper Preston Edwards just about held onto the ball.
As the game entered the final few minutes both sides continued probing but the sense was that with defences on top the breakthrough was unlikely.
Hamlet manager Gavin Rose summed up the subdued mood of the afternoon.
He said: "I'm a bit disappointed not to win especially as we had the better of the first half but all in all a draw was probably a fair result."
STAR MAN: Sonny Miles (Tonbridge Angels)
ENTERTAINMENT: *** (out of a possible five stars)
There was no non-league coverage in Tuesday's midweek 'South London Press', but there was a detailed report on Monday's match at home to Kingstonian on-line, covered by the Kentish Football website, which you can read by CLICKING HERE
On Thursday the 'Southwark News' concentrated on the K's game as well:
CHAMPION DISPLAY KEEPS HAMLET ON THE RISEDulwich Hamlet's chances of promotion received a huge shot in the arm after they defeated Kingstonian 4-2 at Champion Hill on Monday night.
Kingstonian hadn't won in nine games and it showed. Ashley Carew put his side haead from the penalty spot-his 44th goal in 150 games for the club-in the first half before Ibra Sekajja double the lead soon after the break.
Goalkeeper Rob Tolfrey denied Hamlet a third when he brilliantly pushed Ibrahim Kargbo's header onto the bar.
However, Tolfrey could little to prevent the dominant home side extending their lead in front of the 595 attendance when Nyren Clunis surged down the right wing before crossing accurately for Dipo Akinyemi to finish.
Kingstonian got a goal back with just over 20 minutes left through a Pico Gomez free-kick that eluded Preston Edwards.
Sekajja made the game safe for Dulwich two minutes into added time, before Joe Turner grabbed a consolation for the visitors.
In a busy week for the Isthmian League Premier Division side, with three crucial games in six days, boss Gavin Rose showed the strength of the squad by resting Gavin Tomlin, Kargbo and Sanchez Ming, with Sekajja and Panutche Camara starting and Clunis returning from injury.
Monday's result left them in seventh place in the table, with between two and four games in hand on all of the sides above them except Leiston, who are sixth.
Dulwich were playing second-placed Havant & Waterlooville on Wednesday night at Champion Hill after the News went to press. They play Billericay Town-who have former West Ham and England defender Paul Konchelsky in their squad-on Saturday, before the return fixture against the Essex side next tuesday.
And yesterday the weekend copy of the 'South London Press' also ran with our promotion push:
Play-off hopes boosted as six points bankedDulwich Hamlet gave their play-off hopes a major boost as they banked six points from two midweek Ryman League Premier Division games.
It moves Gavin Rose's side up to sixth in the table-a point behind Tonbridge Angels but with three games in hand.
Dipo Akinyemi opened the scoring in Wednesday nights' 3-0 victory over Havant & Waterlooville at Champion Hill. Dumebi Dumaka struck in the 74th minute before Nyren Clunis bagged a third right at the end.
Hamlet were 4-2 winners over Kingstonian on home turf two days earlier. Ashley Carew converted an early penalty with Ibra Sekajja making it 2-0 on 49 minutes.
Akinyemi had Dulwich in the comfort zone with a third goal before Pelayo Pico Gomez got a consolation.
Joe Turner pulled it back to 3-2 in the 90th minute but Sekajja claimed a brace to make the outcome safe.
