Chana Reaches Half-Century
Defender brings up the milestone at The Den in our final game of the 22-23 season
It was a special afternoon for our Women's First Team as they walked out at The Den against Millwall Lionesses, and for Chana Hinds, it had the added bonus of a personal landmark.
Chana became the eighth player to reach 50 appearances for the Hamlet First Team by starting in our 2-1 defeat to Millwall, and remarkably only two of those appearances have come as a substitute, highlighting her importance to Ryan Dempsey.
Chana first joined the club at the start of the 2020-21 campaign, joining Jack Badu's Reserves side, and appeared in every game in that curtailed season, scoring twice in 13 games.
After one final appearance for the Reserves at the start of the following season, Chana would make her debut for the First Team in September 2021, and helped the defence keep a clean sheet in a 6-0 win over Denham United.
In fact, she would start 22 games in a row for the side, which was a club record at the time, and since making her debut, has only missed ten games, a testament to her commitment and being able to stay relatively injury-free.
After 26 appearances during the 2021-22 campaign, Chana would grab her first goal in the First Team in her first game of this season, the opener in our 4-2 defeat at Worthing in August. Her first Champion Hill goal came a week later, with a memorable effort from distance against Sutton United. She has now scored five times for the club, with further goals coming in our both our league fixtures with Aylesford, and another coming at Sutton.
Well done Chana on reaching this landmark, we look forward to seeing many more games in pink and blue.
