Commercial & Community news

Each home game we publish a column in the programme under the title of the heading, above.

For those of you who do not see a programme we shall try to 'spread the word' by reproducing the peice not long after, on here.

This is what we published in the programme on Saturday, against Harrow Borough:

COMMERCIAL & COMMUNITY CORNER

Here we are again, at the start of another Ryman League season, when excitement levels are exploding, hopes are high & fans are desperate for a feast of football!

The pre-seasons are over, and it’s time to look at what’s ‘new’…

First of all though, something ‘old’ something new! We are extremely pleased to tell you that our main shirt sponsor WINKWORTHS DULWICH are again on board with us, and their logo will be emblazoned across our shirts. This will be both the home & away kits, which are currently being manufactured, and we hope to have by the end of the month.

The away design is an unique design for English football, being red & black hoops, on a white background. This is based on the home kit of our German friends from Altona 93, who our supporters have a wonderful friendship with. Details of ordering both the home & away shirts can be found by scrolling back in the news section of the official Dulwich Hamlet website, at pitchero.com/clubs/dulwichhamlet

Incidentally, talking of Altona fans, one of their number Mark Rawson was a welcome visitor behind the goal on Tuesday, in our last pre-season against Tooting; and will be back again today. We also hear that Jan Stover is also coming to London for a short break, & will be at our away match at Kingstonian, on Monday night.

Back to sponsors, we are pleased to welcome, as new major partner, Dulwich Tandoori, who are our new back of shirt sponsors. They are based at 54 Lordship Lane, and have been established there since 1982, so now you know where to go for a bite if you’re hungry on a Saturday night after the game. Have a look at their advert elsewhere in today’s programme.

We also have had good news from the top notch Flock & Herd butchery, from 155 Bellenden Road. Not content with backing The Hamlet through programme advertising a pitch perimeter boards, they have now also extremely generously agreed to sponsor both pre-match t-shirts & warm-up tops for our First Team players and management. In addition they have also offered to sponsor the actual dugouts where these will be worn, with their name soon to be emblazoned across the back of them.

And, also on the sponsorship front, Supreme Engraving & awards UK are also continuing with their Man of the Match sponsorship; as well as the Player of the Month awards; the monthly one being run in association with support from the Honor Oak Handyman.

Everyone at Dulwich Hamlet thanks all of the above businesses for their help.

Today we are also pleased to welcome, as our Match Sponsor Dulwich Tandoori and the official match ball sponsor is Graeme Boxall.

Now, before I finish, a brief community bit…a lot of you will have a Dulwich Hamlet Supporters Trust presence at both the Dulwich Festival, on Goose Green & at the Lambeth Country Show, in Brockwell Park, over the summer. They did a superb job in promoting all aspects of the Club, and amassed a large list of emails, from local people who have not been to Champion Hill before. By the time you read this they will have already have sent out a welcome letter to all of these folk, and included an attachment for four people to attend our next Saturday home game, against Lewes, in a fortnight. The idea is to give people ‘a flavour’ of a matchday at Champion Hill, which-thanks to all of our supporters- is probably unique in non-league football at our level. The idea is to offer a ‘free taster’ and fill some ‘empty space’ in the ground, and thus encourage our fanbase to grow. This is just one initiative where we are hoping the Supporters Trust can start working with the Football Club, on community initiatives, Let’s hope relationships between the Club and the Trust will grow and strengthen, as we all pull together as one to take Dulwich Hamlet onwards & upwards.
