Constable Arrives to Police Between The Sticks

Keeper R'avan reunited with former Maidstone manager

Hakan Hayrettin has signed his first goalkeeper as Dulwich manager, bringing in R'avan Constable.

The 28-year-old Jamaican is reunited with Hakan Hayrettin and Terry Harris, who he played under at Maidstone United during the Covid-19-shortened 2020-21 campaign, making nine appearances for the Stones.

R'avan then moved to Hayes and Yeading United, making 13 clean sheets in 34 appearances before joining Beaconsfield Town in the summer of 2022. R'avan ended the season with Hanwell Town.

Prior to signing for Hakan at Maidstone, the goalkeeper had spells with the likes of Barnet, Potters Bar Town (twice) and Wealdstone, before enjoying the first of his two spells with both Beaconsfield and Hayes & Yeading.

"I'm delighted to become a part of Dulwich Hamlet, and I am raring to go here" said R'avan. "It's great to be back with Hak and Terry, they have great determination, they make everything so straightforward for a player, and that is something I feel I need from coaches."

"This season will hopefully be a strong one and I can help the club go back up. I will be quiet off the pitch, relaxed and observing things, but on it, I'm a totally different person, I'm a beast! I'm constantly shouting and organising my back four, screaming at everyone to put their all in!"

"I think I have good communication skills and organising the defence, I'll always be coming for crosses and have decent distribution with both feet, and of course I'm not going to leave shot-stopping out!"

"The atmosphere in the early training sessions here has been fantastic, the boys have great personalities and I'm enjoying getting to know them. The mood has been great in the changing room, but we need to see that on the pitch."

"R'avan was a great young lad to work with when we were at Maidstone and was still learning the ropes somewhat, and he comes back to us with more experience." added Terry Harris.

"He's gone out to the likes of Hayes & Yeading and Beaconsfield and Hanwell and made the number 1 jersey his own, he is a great lad to have around the place and will push hard to be our number 1 this season."

"He has a great presence and organises well on the pitch with his defenders, and good hands, which of course is very important for a keeper! He can also strike a standing ball a great distance, so we are delighted to have R'avan on board."
