Don't you wish your keeper was Phil Wilson!
Fortunately he IS our keeper...and on Saturday he received a small token of appreciation for his services.
For those of you who hadn't realised, when we played Harrow Borough last Tuesday, fans' favourite PHIL WILSON made his 200th appearance for The Hamlet.
Before kick-off he received a token of appreciation from Football Club Chairman Mr. Jack Payne on the pitch.
Congratulations 'Sarge'. Here's to the next two hundred, Mr. Wilson. But we have to accept you're not getting any younger...so we'll settle for the next one hundred appearances first!
For those of you who might be wondering, only two other Hamlet custodians been between the sticks more often than Phil since the Second World War. Dave Darvill wore the goalkeepers shirt 457 time, which I'm sure even Phil himself might admit he probably won't surpass. But the next one, standing between him & the legendary Darvill should be overtaken. Alan Thomas played 224 times for Dulwich in the Seventies.
Congratulations Phil on your milestone...here's to many more games for The Hamlet to come!
