Rhys Murrell-Williamson Signs Contract with Dulwich Hamlet
Winger Rhys Murrell-Williamson, brought to the club by the supporters' 12th Man Scheme, has now signed a contract with Dulwich Hamlet.
Rhys originally joined Hamlet on a two-month loan deal, but announced last month he was staying at Champion Hill for the foreseeable future. He has now committed to the club by signing a contract, despite interest in his services from elsewhere.
Manager Gavin Rose commented "I am particularly pleased with the signing. Despite a large amount of attention from professional clubs in the leagues above, Rhys felt he wanted to help Dulwich Hamlet in its quest to be successful in gaining promotion this season." Rose added that "Committing to the club will give Rhys the time to continue to impress and eventually gain an opportunity to move into league football".
The contract could only be secured through the ongoing support of the 12th Man Scheme, set up by Dulwich Hamlet supporters to raise additional funds for the playing budget. The response to last month's announcement that the scheme was paying for Murrell-Williamson as well as contributing to the signing of striker Ryan Moss has been fantastic. Extra donations have been coming into the scheme to help swell the coffers, from those willing to set up a standing order from their bank account, as well as those throwing change into the '12th Man Bucket' on matchday.
The organisers of the scheme are running a raffle this coming Saturday during the home game against Needham Market, with all proceeds going to the 12th Man. A full list of prizes will be announced later in the week.
