Dulwich Hamlet 0-2 Hampton & Richmond Borough

Dulwich were again below par in a home game as the visitors enjoyed a comfortable win after taking advantage of poor defending.

Another home defeat and a failure to score, in fact after having an early goal disallowed they rarely looked threatening.

In fact, ex Dulwich man Chris Dickson fired over in only the second minute when well placed just 10 yards out, before the home side had a goal ruled out in the 4th minute. A mistake at the back let in Nyren Clunis and he seemed to be pulled back before a scramble saw a possible hand ball and then Nathan Ferguson bundled the ball home; this is when the referee made the decision that there had been a foul by the Dulwich player.

Dipo Akinyemi forced Lovelock to tip his 6th minuet effort over before Dickson had two further efforts off target as the Dulwich defence looked less than secure. For The Hamlet,
Ashley Carew almost found the run into the box of Dominic Vose and Nathan Ferguson fired too high.

Dulwich almost fell behind in the 19th minute when Uchechi got round the back on the right side of the defence, but Ibrahim Kargbo cut out his cross.

As the early promise faded, Dulwich were increasingly unable to make an impression as an attacking force and poor defending meant that they fell behind in the 31st minute. Sanchez Ming lost the ball on the left and Dulwich failed to clear the cross properly. Uchechi then returned it into the box and Dundas was left unmarked to touch past Preston Edwards.

The Hamlet now looked very much second best and Murrell-Williamson missed two chances in a couple of minutes, whilst Miller-Rodney was allowed to cut in from the left and curl an effort just wide. Michael Kamara denied Dickson and Murrell-Williamson was foiled by Edwards before Dickson fired the follow up effort over.

Half Time 0-1

The second half saw The Hamlet very much second best as more early errors in defence were not punished by Dickson, although he would add the second goal in the 56th minute. An innocuous tackle by Quade Taylor saw the ex Dulwich man fall to the ground and the referee pointed to the spot. Dickson confidently converted.

Dulwich finally managed an effort of note with 20 minutes left but Lovelock foiled Ferguson one on one. That was as close as Dulwich would get and only good goalkeeping by Preston Edwards and a block from Quade Taylor prevented a third goal from substitute Whichelow.

Final Score 0-2
