DULWICH HAMLET 1-1 KINGSTONIAN

DULWICH HAMLET 1-1 KINGSTONIAN

Dulwich suffered heartbreak as they missed out on the play offs by a single point as they failed to achieve the victory their performance deserved.

In front of a season's best attendance of 1388, The Hamlet slipped out of the play off places as they couldn't find the winning goal they deserved.

Dulwich were quickly into their stride as they dictated play from the start and it was no surprise when they took the lead in the 11th minute. The ball came to Kevin James just outside the penalty area and he drilled home into the bottom right corner of K's keeper, Rob Tolfrey's goal.

Three minutes later Dulwich were within inches of doubling the lead as Erhun Oztumer dribbled into the area and his shot beat Tolfrey but crashed off the post.

It was all Dulwich as Harry Ottaway flicked the ball into the path of Tommy Kavanagh but he fired wide. Then Harry Ottaway caused havoc in the visitors defence as he caused a mix up between Tolfrey and Page but his shot was a whisker wide of the far post.

Past the half hour mark the visitors began to be seen as an attacking force but without causing undue alarm in the home defence. However, Dulwich suffered a sucker punch in the 3rd minute of stoppage time at the end of the half as a long ball forward was knocked down by Ryan Moss and rifled home by Daniel Sweeney.

Half Time 1-1

The 2nd half got off to a slow start before Harry Ottaway forced Tolfrey into a save after 53 minutes but the game was now more even as The Hamlet pushed forward leaving gaps at the back.

Harry Ottaway went close again and a Kevin James shot was saved whilst it took good defending from Aaron Goode to head a dangerous cross away at the far post. At the other end, Phil Wilson had to be alert to foil McCollum and Laidler shot wide.

As time ticked down both Kevin James and Erhun Oztumer failed to find the target with free kicks just outside the box and with 90 minutes up a Peter Adeniyi cross was scrambled over.

One final chance came the way of Harry Ottaway but his far post header hit tbs challenging defender's shoulder and went over...
