Dulwich Hamlet 2-1 Whitehawk
Dulwich recorded a morale boosting victory over Whitehawk with second half goals from Michael Abnett & Dean McDonald.
The first half was one of few chances although Whitehawk carried the greater threat throughout. It was ex Dulwich loaned Serge Makofo who put them in front with a rasping angled drive that gave Phil Wilson no chance.
Dulwich almost equalised straight after the half time break as Michael Abnett struck the bar and they gradually got on top as the half wore on. The introduction of Nyren Clunis & Xavier Vidal brought with it a greater attacking threat before the equaliser arrived.
Michael Abnett picked up the ball half way inside the Whitehawk half and embarked on a weaving run that took him into the box, where he produced a calm and measured finish into the corner.
The winner came close to the end as Dean McDonald swivelled on the penalty spot to finish low into the net after the ball had bounced around the box without being cleared.
The game also saw a cameo appearance from new signing Joe Benjamin who had one scuffed shot when well placed prior to the winner.
Final Score 2-1
