Dulwich Hamlet 2- 2 Hampton & Richmond Borough
A 90th minute equaliser denied 10 man Dulwich victory in front of a ground record crowd of 2856.
Dulwich lost their 100% home record as Hampton substitute Paris Mason pounced in injury time to rescue a point.
Dulwich were slow out of the blocks with Hampton in the ascendancy forcing three early corners that Dulwich did well to repel. Phil Wilson also had to be alert as Ben Harris got clear on the left.
It was 15 minutes before Dulwich put together a meaningful attack with Jordan Hibbert doing well on the left but seeing his cross blocked for a corner. From the corner, Ethan Pinnock headed back across goal from beyond the far post and Michael Kamara mistimed his header which struck his own shoulder and on to the top of the bar. Cleaner contact would surely have seen The Hamlet take the lead.
Chances were at a premium and the best fell to Kevin James from an Ashley Carew cross. He volleyed wide from no more than 10 yards when most people expected to see the ball being despatched into the net.
Half Time 0-0
Dulwich looked brighter at the start of the second half and less than two minutes in Nigel Neita embarked on a run from inside his own half. His shot from 25 yards brought a good low save from Norton in the visitors goal as he pushed the shot wide.
Ten minutes into the half The Hamlet took the lead. Kevin James was released down the left and his far post cross was volleyed home via a defection by Ashley Carew.
Dulwich now looked in control but were punished for slack defending 12 minutes later as Kershaney Samuels was adjudged to have brought down the striker in the box and received a second yellow card.
Ben Harris despatched the penalty straight down the middle of the goal as Phil Wilson dived to his right.
However, despite being a man down, Dulwich still looked to push froward at every opportunity and they regained the lead with 11 minutes left through a second Ashley Carew goal. Good work from Ethan Pinnock on the right saw him tee up Carew to drive high past Norton from just outside the box.
Hampton went in search of an equaliser and Phil Wilson had to produce a fine tip over. At the other end Kevin James almost secured the points but, after getting away on the left after a great pass from Ashley Carew, his shot beat Norton but went inches wide of the post.
As the game entered stoppage time Hampton got their equaliser as a low cross from the Dulwich right wasn't cleared and substitute Paris Mason gleefully fired home.
Even then Xavier Vidal had a chance to grab the winner for the home side but he fired high and wide.
