"PAY WHAT YOU LIKE" match today!
Home to Hampton & Richmond Borough, 3.00pm kick off. It's our Non League Day game, showcasing the Kick It Out campaign & raising money for charity
After weeks of preparations from the supporters, players & officials at Dulwich Hamlet our Non League Day PAY WHAT YOU LIKE match is here!
Today you can do exactly that, by making a donation as you come through the turnstiles, or into the buckets inside the ground.
Once our usual matchday costs have been covered we shall be making a donation to the Mayor of Southwark's charity appeal, during his year of office, which are two local charities that work with the homeless, namely The Robes Project & UK Homes 4 Heroes.
His Worshipful the Mayor Cllr. Sunil Chopra will be at the match, and we be presented to both teams before kick off, with The Hamlet & our visitors being led out onto the pitch by young children from our very own Dulwich Hamlet Football in the Community scheme.
They will be parading a banner, carrying the message of the anti-racist & discrimination KICK IT OUT campaign, for whom we are one of only four Non-League ambassadors today; the others being Lewes; Marine & Blyth Spartans.
Just prior to kick off the youngsters will carry the banner across the pitch and hand it over to The Hamlet supporters congregated at the Dog Kennel Hill end of the ground for them to display behind the goal.
At half time there will a football skilld exhibition on the pitch from them too!
Some of our players & Gavin Rose's management team will be doing their own Dulwich Hamlet Ice Bucket Challenge on the pitch after the final whistle, at a quarter past five. With the buckets being emptied by fans who have offered sponsor money to do so. There may be one or two slots left for this, listen to the tannoy announcements at Champion Hill this afternoon.
During the second half buckets will be taken round the ground...please donate generously, as this will be for the Players Ice Bucket Challenge, with the proceeds from this being split between the Mayor of Southwark's charity appeal, and the one who are leading ice bucket challenges, Motor Neurone Disease.
As if all of this wasn't enough...to support the players efforts Dulwich Hamlet Football Club have agreed to donate all of the profit from today's 50/50 Draw to their fundraising too..and there's a special second prize of having the honour of tipping one of the ice buckets over First Team boss Gavin Rose!
We look forward to seeing everyone who makes the effort to come along today to cheer The Hamlet, and help support our special day, but PLEASE, PLEASE come along early to avoid long queues at the turnstiles...the bar will be open beforehand for your enjoyment.
