DULWICH HAMLET 4-1 MERSTHAM
Dulwich completed a routine victory over a Merstham side that entertained but lacked a cutting edge.
It took only 13 minutes for The Hamlet to take the lead as Nyren Clunis was brought down on just inside the box and the referee had a simple decision to award a penalty. Daniel Carr took over the duties and rolled the ball home.
The second goal duly arrived on 40 minutes as Xavier Vidal won the ball in midfield and advanced unchallenged before striking an unstoppable drive into the top corner.
It was the 64th minute when Nyren Clunis slammed home the third goal after good work from Daniel Carr and Erhun Oztumer. On 70 minutes it was Nyren who finished the contest after chesting down a clearance and slamming past a static keeper from the edge of the box.
It was Merstham who pulled one back on 80 minutes with a fine looping header from Mark Nwokeji.
However there were no further alarms as The Hamlet closed out a 4-1 win and moved within 4 points of the top with 3 games in hand.
