Dulwich Hamlet sign Coventry City tyro ‘keeper
Teenage Coventry City goalkeeper Corey Addai has joined the Hamlet on a Youth Loan as Preston Edwards battles injury...
6 foot 6 tall custodian Addai has joined Gavin Rose's troops for a one-month deal which runs until the 31st of March. The 'keeper is no stranger to the Bostik League having spent time with Dulwich's North London rivals Hendon FC, who he spent time on loan at Silver Jubilee Park earlier in the season. Older fans may recall Corey's father playing for the Hamlet in the 1980s, albeit briefly, 'keeping goal in a single goal defeat away to Harlow Town at their former Sports Centre home though with the game played under a pall of fog few could give a true assessment of that match.
Corey Addai joined the Sky Blues from Arsenal back in 2014 and after two years within the youth team, the 20-year-old signed a professional contract with City in 2016. Despite a number of appearances on the substitutes' bench Corey is yet to make his senior debut for the Sky Blues and this loan move is seen by his parent club to be the next step in his development.
The gargantuan goalie was also part of the Coventry City Under-18 side that reached the last 16 of the FA Youth Cup in 2016, but after holding Arsenal to a 2-2 were knocked out by the Gunners who progressed after a 7-6 win on penalties.
