Erroneous report linking Premier League striker to Champion Hill

Despite reports that Dulwich Hamlet have been linked with Leicester CIty's Jamie Vardy the club would like to confirm that this is just paper talk.

In the report published on www.football365.com, it was stated that Dulwich Hamlet were among a number of clubs that Leicester City's leading striker Vardy and his teammate Riyad Mahrez had been linked with. Only a few years ago Vardy was still playing in the Non League pyramid plying his trade with Stocksbridge Park Steels.

The article put Dulwich Hamlet in some exalted company including Barcelona, Real Madrid, Arsenal and Chelsea. However Leicester City's manager Claudio Ranieri insisted in the article that neither player would be sold as “they don’t have a price”.

“No one can buy Vardy or Mahrez in January,” Ranieri said. “They don’t have the money and they don’t have a price."

Perhaps that is good news in itself for it might take a lot of bucket rattling from the Dulwich Hamlet 12th Man to reach a target that could best the likes of our supposed rivals for Vardy's signature!
