For once it's not too early...

For once it's not too early...

For this week sees the launch of the Dulwich Hamlet Christmas card competion for local schools

In an exciting brand new initiative Dulwich Hamlet Football Committee member for Schools George Parnavelas is working alongside a local primary school deputy head teacher Rob Hyneman, which is asking local school children to design the official Dulwich Hamlet Football Club 2017 Christmas card!

The competition is open to anyone under the age of 18 who is currently attending a primary school, secondary school or youth organisation.

We would like children to create their best Christmas card design – it could be any design they wish but including an element of football and a link to Dulwich Hamlet FC is preferable. The design needs to be completely original and should not incorporate any published designs.

The design should not include any text or the Dulwich Hamlet FC logo. This will be added when the winning design is published.

Children can use any media they wish to create their design e.g. pencil, crayon, pen, paint, or even collage. If using collage, please ensure everything is stuck on securely. Please also avoid using chalk as it does not print well. Entries must not be photographs.

The winner will be chosen and their picture will be printed and sent out as the official Dulwich Hamlet Football Club Christmas card for 2017.

Winners will receive:

• Free tickets for every pupil and teacher from their school to a Dulwich Hamlet home league game in December 2017.
• The winner will be invited to be the Dulwich Hamlet mascot for the match.
• The winning school will be invited to provide player escorts for the match.
• They will also receive 10 printed copies of their design so they can send to friends and relatives.
• The winner will get a football coaching session, for their year at their school, provided by the Dulwich Hamlet ASPIRE Academy.

How to enter:
• Entries must be no larger than A4.
• A scanned copy or photograph of the entry should be sent to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by Wednesday 15th November at 7pm. • Entries should include; your name, age, school/organisation, email address of parent or carer and a contact telephone number.

Mr. Hyneman, as his pupils will call him, is a Hamlet fan himself, who approached George with this cracking idea, and they then put their heads together to come up with the competition package listed here.

Rob said, about the competition:
"As a Hamlet fan it's great to have the opportunity to work with the club to engage the younger generations. One of the best things about the club is the family friendly ethos and the amount of children who attend home games. The competition offers the chance for budding artists to share their talents and contribute to the DHFC community. This is a great opportunity to capture the imaginations of local school children and maybe recruit some life long supporters for Hamlet!"

While George added:
"This competition complements the work we do by reaching out to local schools and youth groups perfectly. It makes football even more fun for youngsters, where they'll be improving some of their life skills without even realising it."

He also went on to say:
"Any schools or local groups that haven't heard about our free tickets offer to a home game just get in touch and we will sort it out. Each kid will receive a free voucher for a home game, and it can be used for adults or children. It really is as simple as that, there are no catches."

If anyone wants to take up this on-going Dulwich Hamlet tickets initiative then all you have to do is drop him an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. & he will do the rest.
