League Two side AFC Wimbledon have completed the loan signing of West Ham United forward Paul McCallum with the 19-year-old joining the Kingston-based side on a one-month deal.
The former Dulwich Hamlet teenager has impressed for the Premier League side’s development squad this season, scoring six goals in 11 appearances for the fledgling Hammers.
Dons boss Neal Ardley told the AFC Wimbledon website: “Good players like this do not become available too often so we have to utilise them. We have had rave reviews about Paul. He is a big, strong lad, who links the play up well.”
After impressing in the Dulwich Hamlet youth and first team at the start of the 2010/2011 season, Paul attracted the attention of scouts from a number of big name clubs, opting to make the move to Upton Park in January 2011.
Injury disrupted his maiden campaign in claret and blue but this season he has been bagging them in with the best of them, even earning a call up to the senior squad for the Hammers’ Capital League campaign.
