Hamlet Youngsters Move Out On Dual-Reg Deals
Four 'B' Team players set to gain experience at Step 4.
We are delighted to announce that four members of our 'B' Team have moved out from the club to teams at Step 4 level, to help them in their development and transition between the youth game and the senior game.
Defender Jamal Abubakari and midfielders Malachi Morris and Alpha Diallo have joined Isthmian League South Central side Merstham, managed by our former title-winning skipper and ex-Aspire coach Peter Adeniyi, who moved there from Carshalton Athletic this summer following the Moatsiders' relegation at the end of last season. Another familiar face at the Moatside is Michael Kamara, who played for the Hamlet in two separate spells, most recently in 2018.
Also moving out on a dual-registration deal is defender Tyrese Heslop, who has joined Merstham's league rivals Chipstead.
Both Diallo and Abubakari featured for the first team last season, and both found the back of the net, with the latter scoring on his debut against Welling in the London Senior Cup In November, and went on to be an unsued substitute in a further seven first team games. Diallo made his debut that night too, and played a further three times for the senior side, scoring a dramatic equaliser at Plymouth Parkway in the FA Trophy after coming off the bench. Neither Morris nor Heslop have yet to make their first team bow.
Aspire coach and Hamlet assistant manager Junior Kadi said "It's great that these boys can go out on dual-registration to help them progress in their game. We have good contacts with the managers at both Merstham and Chipstead and thank them both for taking the boys."
"They will have plenty of exposure to men's football this season as they will still be involved in 'B' Team training sessions with us on Mondays and Fridays, and then train with their clubs on Tuesdays and Thursdays, plus playing on a Saturday, which is great for their development. We are always looking to develop our youngsters and by giving them this chance to play elsewhere, it could also benefit our first team by getting the young boys ready to fight for a place. They're all hungry to do well, and I know they will work hard for their new teammates."
Good luck Jamal, Malachi, Alpha and Tyrese!
