Holden Arrives From Cambridge
Young goalkeeper joins following injury to Charlie Grainger
The club would like to extend a warm welcome to young goalkeeper James Holden, who has signed on a one-month loan deal from Cambridge United.
The 21-year-old joined the U's in the summer from Reading, and will compete for a starting berth with Aaron Jones following the knee injury sustained by Charlie Grainger in the warmup at Braintree Town on Tuesday.
James has previous experience on non-league football, having spent time out on loan at Bognor Regis Town and Bracknell Town in the 2019-20 season, before two separate spells with Maidenhead United over the past two years.
Last season, James played nine times for the Magpies, and has also had playing experience for the Royals in the Premier League 2 competition.
During Charlie's time out, James will wear the number 1 jersey and could make his debut against Bath City this weekend.
Welcome to the club James!
