Its Cani at the double for Dulwich Hamlet / Aspire in FBB win

Klajdi Cani scored twice as Dulwich Hamlet's came from behind to win their friendly against the cream of Football Beyond Borders.

Dulwich Hamlet opened their weekend long Family Festival of Football on Friday night as Champion Hill paid host to Football Beyond Borders who faced up against a ASPIRE Academy Select picked from Hamlet’s double winning ASPIRE Academy Under 18’s as well as number of the Under 16s & others.

The game took place to welcome Football Beyond Borders as Dulwich’s official charity partners for the 2016/2017 season and was a full blooded affair with plenty of action to keep the crowd engrossed. The first half saw much in the way of feisty football, plenty of goal scoring opportunities but not of them finding the back of the net.

That all changed after the break when the Football Beyond Borders team took the lead with a sublimely executed free kick from outside the area. However, that lead did not last long as an FBB defender was spotted giving a helping hand to the Hamlet attack as a neat free kick was delivered into the six-yard box. From the spot Klajdi Cani slipped the penalty kick under the dive of the visitors’ goalie. The same player would send the Hamlet ahead not long after but then a rather comical goal levelled matters. In a crowded box an attempted clearance cannoned off a Dulwich defender, looping almost in slow motion over the stranded Ediz Hoca for 2-2. It seemed as if an honourable draw might be on the cards but in dying moments of the game Dulwich Hamlet scored a corker of a winner, a deep ball into the corner pocket cut back low to Cristian Bucin whose first time strike flew low and straight into the far bottom corner of the net for the decider.
