Keep up your great support!
Our fans have been magnificent this season, superb backing of the team home & away, and it hasn't gone un-noticed by other clubs
Crowds have been buoyant at home, pushing tantalisingly close to the five hundred mark, with the team appreciative of the chanting and banners on show.
But it's also been picked up on by other clubs!
Our first away match was on a Monday night, away to Hendon at Harrow Borough FC, and the report on their official website mentioned:
"Mention must be made of the outstanding support given to the visitors by around 70 fans, who sang loudly and cheered their team on for almost all of the 90 minutes."
Our magnificent away support also got praised in the match report in the 'Non League Paper' the day after we visited Metropolitan Police:
"A healthy crowd, largely populated by a noisy & jovial Dulwich support, were denied any goals."
In the same edition there was a letter praising our pre-season attendances from Hamlet fan Tony Link:
It's friendly happiness for Hamlet
"It was rightly commented on Histon and Enfield Town getting big-name friendlies this summer but how about my team. Dulwich Hamlet. On the basis of tranferring players to the Football League, Dulwich have taken on Premier League new boys Crystal Palace and Championship side Huddersfield Town during this pre-season-not to mention games against our local rivals Millwall and Dagenham & Redbridge. Dulwich have always had a good record of producing young players who move up to League football and despite playing at theame level of Enfield, still got a crowd of over 1,600 against Crystal Palace."
Our loyal travelling support, when over a hundred travelled on Bank Holiday Monday, also got a namecheck on the report printed on the official Grays Athletic website:
"It must be said that the match was played in a competitive but excellent spirit with both sets of supporters getting behind their team. The first half sing-off between the Blues and the visiting supporters was an equally entertaining stalemate"
Though it must be said, there appears to be a little bit of journalistic licence with that statement, as all Hamlet fans present are adamant that our songs were louder, more frequent & original, but then websites are supposed to favour your own club as can be seen by their headline when they played East Thurrock United, which was: 'East Thurrock Utd edge local derby 3-0'!
All in all, our support has been amazing in their backing of the team, home and away, concentrating on backing our boys rather than winding up away fans or players. Keep it up home and way, never under-estimate how much the team appreciate your backing, which gives them such a boost.
