Leatherhead 2-0 Dulwich Hamlet

A depleted Dulwich side slipped to their first defeat of the season at a very soggy Fetcham Grove.

A Dulwich side without Phil Wilson, Kershaney Samuels, Kevin James, Nyren Clunis, Dean McDonald & Dean Lodge slipped to defeat at Leatherhead.

Both sides struggled to gain early dominance although Leatherhead's Stacy Long looked the most likely to make things happen with his prompting from midfield.

Xavier Vidal forced the first real save as he brought a good save from home keeper Louis Wells before Leatherhead took a 22nd minute lead as Long was allowed too much space and he produced an exquisite chip shot over Inigo Echepare.

Ashley Carew drew a save from Wells with a well struck free kick & Nigel Neita had a shot deflected narrowly wide.Wells had to block from Carew & Marlon Patterson whilst Carew narrowly cleared the bar as his quickly taken free kick nearly caught Wells off his line.

Half Time 1-0

The second half saw some good passing movements but very little goal threat. Echepare did well to get down and block at his near post and produced a couple of important interceptions of dangerous crosses.

The Hamlet were posing little goal threat although they came close when Kareem Boyle cut in from the left and had his goalbound effort deflected over.

With 10 minutes remaining the home side got the crucial second goal as Ryan Mahal got away on the Dulwich left and his cross was met with a diving header by Richard Avery that gave Echepare no chance.
