You can now vote for your men's Player of the Month for January.
It was an inconsistent month for Paul Barnes and his side in January, with the highs of the New Year's Day win at Dover and late drama at Welling combined with heavy defeats to Farnborough and Wingate & Finchley, before we ended the month with three successive losses.
Charlie Grainger may not have kept a clean sheet during January, but consistently showed why he is one of the greatest keepers in the division. He produced a string of stunning saves to keep us in the game during the first half against Ebbsfleet, whilst also making some crucial stops in the victory at Dover. Jack Holland scored a memorable captain's goal to win us the game at Welling, nodding in a free kick in the final minute of the game to spark scenes of pandemonium in the away end. This was followed by a goal a week later at Slough, and throughout the month produced some monster challenges at key moments in games.
George Porter found himself on the scoresheet twice during January, both goals unfortunately coming in defeats against Slough and Eastbourne. That second goal was an absolute stunner from outside the box, one of the Goal of the Season contenders. He also won the penalty in the Slough game, and it was his beautiful flick that sent Joe Felix through on goal at Dover. Johl Powell has become an integral part of the Hamlet midfield, and had an excellent month in front of goal, leading the scoring charts for January with three strikes, netting in the games against Welling, Wingate & Finchley and Ebbsfleet, whilst his tenacious solo run at Slough created Porter's goal that afternoon, before setting up his teammate again in the Eastbourne game.
