October Player of the Month
Polls are open to vote for your men's and women's Player of the Month
You can now vote for your men's and women's Player of the Month for October.
The men's side, whilst still inconsistent in the results they picked up, with two wins and three losses, have started to produce some wonderful football and under Paul Barnes are now starting to reel in clubs above them in the table.
Will Wood has again produced some dominant defensive displays this month, whether that be in his familiar role of full-back, or when he deputised at centre-back, with the Hamlet not conceding whilst he was on the pitch in that position. Nana Owusu netted three of our five goals this month, including a wonderful free kick against Hungerford and a penalty at St Albans, games we went on to win, and has looked dangerous in the attacking third.
Jayden Clarke continues to look one of the signings of the summer, sparkling time and time again in midfield, running at defenders and has been unfortunate not to get on the scoresheet a couple of times this month. His movement created the opening goal at St Albans last weekend. Finally, Joe Felix has once again been a monster down the right hand side, with lung-busting performances over and over again, and played a key role in the goal for Danny Mills in the win against Hungerford.
The women's side have had a remarkable month, unbeaten in their five games and scoring 21 times in the process, reaching the FA Cup First Round along the way.
Chana Hinds is earning a reputation as one of the trickiest defenders to come up against in the league, her defensive displays contributing to three clean sheets this month, including an astonishing performance against Worthing, definitely the Great Wall of Chana. After struggling with Covid at the start of the month, Rebecca May has returned to her best form, netting four times in the last four games, including one inside 28 seconds against Fulham last Sunday, and the opener in our FA Cup win over Winchester. A real menace in front of goal.
On the wing, Abby Delves has looked dangerous whenever in position, whilst has shown incredible commitment to doing her defensive duties too. A Player of the Match performance at Tunbridge Wells was capped with a goal and a brilliant long-range assist. Finally, Lily Price has gone from strength to strength following her horror injury last season, and marked her first full 90 minutes for the club with two stunning goals from midfield in the Winchester victory, before helping to dominate the midfield in the impressive win over Fulham.
