Over the last week or so...

The local press have been kicking into 'pre-season mode'. Here's what they had to say:

Just over a week ago, in the weekend copy of the 'South London Press':

Scannell boosts Dulwich's frontline options

Dulwich Hamlet have signed Bromley striker Damian Scannell.
The 30-year-old -the older brother of ex-Crystal Palace attacker sean- made his debut in their 3-2 friendly defeat to Peterborough United on Wednesday night.
Scannell senior started his career at Greenwich Borough in 2003 and then spent three seasons with Fisher.
He played in the Football League with Southend United and Dagenham & Redbridge before dropping back into the non-league game in 2011.
Dulwich boss Gavin Rose said: "I've been speaking to him all summer-it has taken us a long time to get him out of his contract at Bromley. He had one year to go on his deal and they saw him as someone who could stay in their squad-but their training regime was virtually impossible for him. We came to an agreement to bring him across but it only really materialised before the Peterborough game. Damian had been training with us last week, with their permission. I worked with Damian at the start of his career. He brings experience and has still got a lot of energy. He can play a lot of areas-on the right and left or even as a number 10 supporting forward."
Dulwich have also handed a chance to full-back Kristian Campbell, who was at East Grinstead Town last season. "In the last couple of years he has come with us during the season and played some cup games," explained Rose. "We've always kept tabs on him."
Rose confirmed that popular striker Harry Ottaway and dean McDonald have been released. "Dean got too many injuries ans we didn't feel we could give him another contract," said Rose. "But he is still a very talented player. Harry has had a very bad two years in terms of injuries which have taken a toll on him-he has not been able to do the work he wants. He has had a loss of earnings which made him come to the decision that he needed to concentrate on his business again. We may well work together again in the future, but he needs to sort himself out work-wise. It's an unfortunate one."
Nyren Clunis and Matt Drage scored Dulwich's goals against Peterborough-who were captained by former Hamlet favourite Erhun Oztumer.
Hamlet are at home to German side Altonaer FC von 1893 tomorrow. The match starts at 6pm.

While yesterday, in the weekly 'Southwark News', new players were also concentrated on:

Hamlet continue to reshape squad

Dulwich Hamlet FC have been busy strengthening their squad ahead og the new league season.
With the new campaign kicking off next month, a number of players have been finishing the paperwork on their moves to the club over the last couple of weeks.
New arrival from Metropolitan Police FC, Steve Sutherland, was among those completing their regsitration forms ahead of the 2015-16 season along with Jordan Hibbert, Matt Drage and Jack Dixon.
sutherland was a club captain at his former side after joining the Met in 2007. He was a member of the 2010-11 Ryman League Division 1 South championship-winning side and captained the Met team that beat AFC Wimbledon in the London Senior Cup final in 2010. He has also played for Walton Casuals and Tooting and Mitcham United.
Dulwich also welcomed back defender Kristian Campbell, who finished last season at Guildford City, and also played for East Grinstead and Holmesdale as well as Hamlet.

And lastly yesterday, the weekend copy of the 'South London Press' headlined with our win on Tuesday night:

Hamlet down the Daggers thanks to a Carew curler

Dulwich laid down a marker in their third pre-season game with a 2-1 victory over League Two Dagenham & Redbridge.
An Ashley Carew curled free-kick secured victory to ensure Gavin Rose's side came from behind-after they had conceded a headed goal from former Sunderland Premier League star Nyron Nosworthy.
But Hamlet hit back before the half-time whistle, levelling through a net chip from Jacob Erskine, before Carew's sublime free-kick won it on the brink of the break.
The hosts had triallist keeper Zaki Oualah between the posts and he was not a fault when the Daggers took the lead. Matt Drage had to clear off the line but from the resulting corner, Nosworthy headed against the far post and in for the opener.
Hamlet pulled level quickly. Damian Scannell, up agaisnt his former club, played a long ball through Wayne Burnett's Dagenham defence and, as the back line appealed for off-side, Erskine deftly brought the ball under control before lifting it over a stranded O'Brien and into the net.
The winner came on the stroke of half-time, after Nyren Clunis had been fouled 25 yards out. Carew put some swing on the ball, leaving a despairing O'Brien little chance, to seal the win.
Dulwich host Championship side Charlton tomorrow as Rose looks to build on the win and test the Addicks.
Dulwich: Oualah, Nelson, Campbell, Waldren, Drage, Pinnock, Clunis, Carew, Erskine, Scannell, Jarrett. Subs: James, Sutherland, Hibbert, Carvalho, Robertson, Fernandes, Lodge.
