The Hamlet head to the Darts in the hope of bouncing back after defeat to Welling in the first fixture of 2022.
After an underwhelming 1-0 defeat to a struggling Welling side, Gavin Rose in his post-match interview explained how his team will head to the Princes Park Stadium in the same manner as it were prior to last Saturday's defeat. With the intention of taking all three points back to the Hill. The way in which his Hamlet side lost the match against Welling was the most disappointing outcome for the boss, with Rose admitting you can lose matches and play well, but that wasn't the case with his team last time out.
Welling forward Dipo Akinyemi bagged the only goal in a match which Dulwich rarely even managed to remotely test Wings shot stopper Jack Simms. It was a less than inspiring performance to start the new year, but focus now turns to a crunch tie against the side one place above Hamlet in the table- Dartford F.C.
The hosts had seemingly runaway from the rest of the competition in the opening months, losing just one of their opening ten fixtures- a narrow 1-0 defeat to Dorking Wanderers. However, that first defeat of the season set them on a small torrid run of form were they only mustered five points from a possible twenty five, allowing for the rest of the league to play catch-up. Steve King's side currently occupy fifth place and like the Hamlet will be hoping to bounce back from a 1-0 loss handed to them by second placed Ebbsfleet.
In the reverse fixture at Champion Hill back in late August, a goal in both halves was enough to ensure a dominant 2-0 triumph for the visitors, in a display which emphasised why they were the early season pacesetters. The Hamlet's last visit to the Princes Park Stadium ended in slender 1-0 defeat, and was provided by a now current member of this year's Dulwich side. Current loanee, Darren McQueen, was the man who scored what turned out to be the only goal of the game that day. The on-loan Dagenham & Redbridge man will now be hoping to do the same for his current employers this time round and give them a very first away win at the Darts. Dulwich's last coup against Saturday's opponents came back in 2019, when Jamie Mascoll and Decarey Sheriff were on hand to give the Hamlet all three points at the Hill.
