REPORT | Hanwell Town vs Dulwich Hamlet | London Senior Cup | 15/4/25
The Hamlet excited the London Senior Cup at the semi-final stage in dramatic fashion on Tuesday night as Hanwell Town booked their spot in the capital's showpiece final.
Hanwell would have the best of the opening chances as they broke through on Dylan Berry and looked to have taken the lead until a Hanwell striker fired over from yards out.
Minutes later though and the Hamlet would have the lead through Aaron Williams-Bushell. The fullback made a driving run down the left wing before cutting in and firing through the keepers legs to give the Hamlet an early lead.
10 minutes later and all of the Hamlet's hard work would be undone. A mix up at the back meant the ball fell to Dan Carr who made no mistake smashing it home from close range.
Jerome Binnom-Williams went close on the 30 minute mark as he met a corner but his header was saved. That being the last meaningful attack of the opening 45 minutes. A half in which the Hamlet controlled.
After a slow start to the 2nd half Hanwell would be given a golden chance to go ahead with 60 minutes go. A quick counter attack was squandered by Dylan Berry who got down to deny a destined goal.
A matter of minutes later and Hanwell would have the lead. A Hamlet free kick went all the way back to Berry who's kick was intercepted and Hanwell broke forward and scored placing them one step closer to the final.
With 20 minutes to go Binnom-Williams would go close with a long range strike. Anthony Jeffrey played it into the captain's feat but his strike would go over.
Moments later and Hanwell would all but secure their place in the final of the London Senior Cup. Berry threw the ball out only for it to be intercepted and Hanwell to break and fire home into the back of Berry's net.
Jeffrey would almost give us a route back into it but his shot was saved by the Hanwell keeper.
In the dying moments Amaru Kaunda would head home a cross from Jeffrey but it would all be a little to late as the Hamlet fell to defeat in west London and returned to Champion Hill without a spot in the Senior Cup final.
