That may not sound a lot, but considering our Reserves only managed to get the same amount of games under their belt in the first four months of the season, it's not a bad achievement!
The first of our January matches was a Capital League match, at home to Staines Town on Tuesday the fourteenth. This ended up in a comfortable 3-1 victory for The Hamlet, with our goals coming from
Last Thursday we were knocked out of the Presidents Cup, which is the League Cup. A home match, switched to the all-weather pitch at Hsyes & Yeading United, which is behind their Beaconsfield Road, the home of Yeading FC, in their pre-merger days.
Unfortunately we went down by the odd goal in five, having been two down at the break, an own goal & one from Gerry Gonella getting us back in it, and we came within seconds of securing a penalty shoot-out when we were awarded a penalty ourselves, but we failed to score from it.
But the awful wet weather has continued, resulting in our Capital League encounter at Biggleswade Town this evening being called off.
Our mext match is now scheduled to be on Wednesdsy 26th february, when we are away to Wealdstone.
