Thank you...from Southwark Foodbank!
We were delighted to receive a lovely letter from our guests on Saturday
Even though we have the best supporters in the land, everybody involved at Dulwich Hamlet were stunned by the amazing generosity of you all, when asked for donations to go to the local Peckham based Southwark Foodbank.
And following the requests from a number of you who want our Club to work with them more, we shall be working closely with them again in the near future.
This morning we recieved the following letter from Felicia Boshorin, who is their Project Manager:
"I am writing on behalf of the entire Southwark Foodbank team to thank you for your support in allowing us to carry out a Food Collection at the Dulwich Hamlet Stadium. The total cash raised was £142.07 with 393.68 kilos of food donated from the supporters. Staff and volunteers were blown away by the support shown by fans and supporters because the total food donated will feed at least 30 families.
Your generosity and support means that we can maintain the work we are doing here at Southwark Foodbank. It is also an encouragement to all who volunteer with us, that working together we can make positive changes towards alleviating poverty within the Borough.
The food donated will go towards feeding individuals and families within the borough of Southwark who during a time of crisis struggle to feed themselves and their families.
We appreciate the generosity of all the staff and supporters, and look forward to receiving further support in the future.
We look forward to your continued support of the Southwark Foodbank, and thanks again for taking the time to reach out to us."
In the meantime, if you want to continue helping them, either by making donations, or offering to put yourself forward as a volunteer yourself, just pop into their main base at 121a Peckham High Street, SE15 5SE.
