The latest local paper round-up

The up-to-date coverage from our two regular papers from the latter part of this week

Yesterday the 'Southwark News' covered the Huddersfield game, and our next professional visitors, Millwall:

Hamlet to face Millwall on Tuesday

After a triumphant win against Huddersfield Town FC on Tuesday night, Dulwich Hamlet FC is ready and raring to face their borough rivals Millwall next Tuesday.
Dulwich Hamlet powered through to a 2-1 defeat on Tuesdaty, with Erhun Oztumer and Matthieu Boyer scoring the goals.
Dulwich Hamlet and Millwall have faced each other on a number of occasions and club secretary Martin Eede said it's always been a competitive game. He said: "There's always been just one or two goals in it, we've had some great matches against Millwall and we have a godo relationship with them."
He added: "Millwall will be bringing a strong side so everybody at the club is looking forward to it. We're really encouraged by the local support."
A good crowd turned out to watch Dulwich Hamlet defeat Huddersfield Town on Tuesday night, which spurred the side on to victory. Martin said: "The game was fantastic. We had a big crowd which is very encouraging considering this is the time of year when everyone's got their minds on summer holidays."
Dulwich Hamlet will face Millwall FC at the Champion Hill ground on 30th July. Kick-off is at 7.45pm.

Todays midweek edition of the 'South London Press' talked about some of our new players, & the huddersfield match:

Blooming trialists cause Rose delay

Dulwich Hamlet boss Gavin Rose has delayed making decisions on triallists because several have impressed him so much. Rose has been planning to whittle down his squad after last weekend, but now that timescale has been tweaked. "We are still a bit more in the dark than we would prefer to be at this time of year," admitted Rose. "Some of the triallists have performed really well and have made it very hard for me to cut them out of my plans early. I hope we can finalise things at the weekend. Eighteen is the minimum number I believe we need-20 would be about ideal."
Rose added that he would love to sign striker Paul Vines, who played at Beckenham Town when the Hamlet manager was in charge there. He said: "Both parties are keen to make sure he is on board with us this season. Paul knows he still has the need to get his fitness up. If he can get to the level that the club and himself wants then he is in my plans, 100 per cent."
Dulwich beat Huddersfield Town's U21 side 2-1 at Champion Hill on Tuesday night. Erhun Oztumer and Mathieu Boyer scored for the hosts in a game arranged as part of the deal that saw Daniel Carr move north in the summer. Carr missed a one-on-one chance before Matt Crooks grabbed a late consolation for the terriers.
"It was very nice for Daniel to come back," Rose said. "He was a bit emotional. He was well received by the supporters, who still sang his song."
The highly rated Xavier Vidal missed the game after injuring his knee in Dulwich's Geoff Harvey Memorial Vase matches last weekend.
