TONIGHT: Dulwich Hamlet Return For Bromley Contest
After a successful tour to the north of England, Dulwich Hamlet are back at Champion Hill to face Bromley at 7:45pm
Dulwich defeated Chester 2-1 and followed it up with a 4-2 win against Marine over the weekend and will be looking to continue the positive start to preseason against our local opposition.
Bromley finished 11th in the National League last season. Anchored by former Dulwich defender Marc-Anthony Okoye, they are likely to be a tough test for Gavin Rose’s side. They are undefeated so far during preseason and beat Maidstone 2-0 on Saturday, following a 3-1 win over Welling and a 0-0 draw with a Fulham XI.
Dulwich and Bromley will compete again for the Glyn Beverly Memorial Cup. Glyn was a former Chairman at Bromley and was associated with the club for many years, but also spent a short time with The Hamlet and is fondly remembered at both clubs. The Hamlet are the current holders of the trophy, having beaten Bromley 6-5 on penalties last summer.
Gavin Rose took a positive outlook from the club's Northern trip and is looking forward to seeing his side take on another challenging opponent. “We’ve played three games now and trained well”, he said. “The group’s a new group so they’re settling in together. Some of the boys have played together at different teams which is good but they’re bonding very well, which is great.”
“I feel we’ve got a good level of experience but also some young players who I feel are adding a good little bit of energy to the group as well.”
