Volunteer & Club Person Of The Year 2022-23
Chris Gilbart and Gavin Smith acknowledged for their outstanding work throughout the season
During half-time of our final game of the season with Chippenham Town, we were delighted to present the Club Volunteer, and Club Person of the Year awards to two well-deserving winners.
Winning the Volunteer of the Year accolade is Chris Gilbart. Every month, Chris gives up his spare time to collect our fixture posters from the printers, and walks around East Dulwich putting them up in business windows, helping us to build relationships with the local community and garnering more support. On top of this, Chris is regularly found putting up the various banners behind the goals in the build-up to a home game as well as fixing them if necessary, and this season has also been helping to paint the tunnel area inside the stadium.

The Club Person of the Year is our Facilities Manager Gavin Smith. Gavin has deservedly won this award for many reasons. On matchdays he is found at the turnstiles, helping to scan tickets and determining the amount of tickets still to sell to the public, ensuring that the ground never goes over its maximum capacity.
He has spent many hours this season over at the training ground, especially during the earlier part of the campaign, helping to set up the portable floodlights before training sessions and taking them down again. Nicknamed the Club's "Swiss Army Knife", Gav is always on hand to fix any technology issues and maintenance problems, and to help set up for events at the club!

We were also delighted to welcome Trisha Leahy to present the awards, with the Volunteer plaque being named in honour of her late husband and our dear friend, Duncan Chapman.
Both Chris and Gavin are exceptionally deserving of their awards, congratulations to the both of you, and thank you for everything you have done, and will continue to do, for Dulwich Hamlet.
